Mobile Detailing Northern Beaches
at your place, by the water.
Motrivo is a fully mobile detailing service built for the Northern Beaches. We bring the whole kit to your driveway at Avalon Beach, Newport, Mona Vale, Narrabeen or Collaroy — all we ask is access to a tap and a power point — and hand back a car with the salt film stripped, the sand gone and the paint sealed. One flat price of $299 for any vehicle size, no deposit, and you pay after the service.
A Mobile Car Wash and Detailing Service Built for Salt Air and Sandy Boots
Living up here is a trade. You get the ocean at the end of the street and a drive home along Barrenjoey Road that most of Sydney would pay for, and in exchange your car spends its life in salt air, sand and sun. Park within a couple of blocks of the water at Whale Beach, Bilgola Beach or Collaroy and a fine salt film settles on the paint overnight, every night. Add wet towels in the boot, sand in the seat rails after a morning at North Narrabeen, and the sap and bird mess that comes with the angophoras through Elanora Heights and Bayview, and paint ages faster on this side of Sydney than almost anywhere else in the city.
Motrivo exists to undo all of that without costing you half a weekend. Rather than queueing at a wash bay at Mona Vale or dropping the car somewhere and organising a lift back, our detailer comes to your address with everything the job needs. You keep working, the kids keep doing whatever they are doing, and the car gets a genuine multi-stage detail instead of a rushed rinse and a spray of gloss.
We are not a franchise handing your keys to a rotating cast of contractors. The same checklist, the same machines and the same finishing products go on every car, whether it is a wagon in an Avalon Beach carport, a ute at Terrey Hills, or a commuter sedan in a shared basement bay behind a Narrabeen unit block.
Interior Detailing, Salt Decontamination and Sealant Protection
Every booking is a full detail, not a wash-and-go. Here is exactly what happens in your driveway.
Interior Car Detailing and Sand Extraction
Full vacuum including under the seats and along every rail, hot-water extraction on carpets and cloth seats where it is needed, leather cleaned and conditioned, vents and console detailed with brushes, and glass finished streak-free. Beach sand, damp boot liners, wetsuit smell and dog hair are treated as standard work here, not billed as surprise extras.
Exterior Wash and Salt Decontamination
Pre-rinse, a snow foam dwell to float off salt and road film, a safe two-bucket contact wash with fresh mitts, wheels and arches cleaned with dedicated tools, tar and iron fallout removed, then a clay bar stage on Signature Plus so the paint is glass-smooth before protection goes on. Door shuts, sills and fuel flaps get their own pass, because that is where salt hides.
Paint Protection and Sealant for Coastal Cars
A hydrophobic sealant that beads hard, sheds sea spray and makes the next few washes far easier. On dark cars it visibly deepens the colour, and on any car within sight of the water it is the single best thing you can do between details. For swirl marks and etching that no sealant can hide, our Elite Correction machine-polishing service is the honest answer.
Engine Bay and Odour Treatment
Degrease, gentle rinse and dressing of the engine bay — worth more than most people think on a coastal car, where salt sits on brackets and hardware — plus an ozone treatment that neutralises damp towel, surf gear, pet and food odours at the source rather than covering them. Both are included in the Signature Plus package.
Car Detailing Prices Across the Beaches
Two straightforward packages, no vehicle-size loading and no travel fee anywhere between Palm Beach and Collaroy. The Signature Detail is $299 and covers a complete interior and exterior detail in roughly 3 to 4 hours. Signature Plus is $429 and adds clay bar decontamination, engine bay cleaning, a hydrophobic sealant and an ozone odour treatment across 5 to 6 hours. Elite Correction, our multi-stage paint correction package, is available on request for cars that need swirls and holograms cut out properly rather than filled and hidden for a fortnight.

How Our Northern Beaches Mobile Detailing Booking Works
Four steps, no drop-off, no waiting room, no surprises on the invoice.
Tell us your street and your car
Book online or call 0461 486 126. We only need the suburb, the type of vehicle and whether the space is covered. A Palm Beach weekender, a Cromer townhouse and a Mona Vale office car park are each planned differently.
We arrive with the full kit
The van carries every product, machine and tool the job needs. All we ask for is access to a water source and a power point at your place, plus roughly one car length of clearance around the vehicle so we can work all the way around it.
The detail runs start to finish
Salt and contamination first, then paint, then interior, then protection and finishing. Nothing gets skipped to hit a time slot, and on exposed clifftop driveways at Whale Beach and Bilgola Plateau we work panel by panel so nothing dries in the wind before it is wiped.
Walkaround, then you pay
We hand the car back, walk around it with you in daylight, and only then take payment. No deposit is taken when you book, and there is no cancellation fee if the weather turns on us.
Salt, Sand and Sun: What Coastal Living Does to Your Paint
A section you will not find on any of our other pages, because these problems belong to this stretch of coast.
Airborne salt is working on your car every single night
Within about a kilometre of the surf at Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Bilgola Beach, North Narrabeen and Collaroy, salt-laden air settles on paint, glass, badges and brightwork after dark and holds moisture against the surface until the sun burns it off. That cycle is what dulls clear coat, hazes chrome and starts corrosion around stone chips and door edges. We strip it with a pH-neutral foam and a proper decontamination stage, then seal so the next fortnight of spray sits on top of the coating.
Sand does more damage than dirt ever will
Beach sand is essentially fine silica, which means it behaves like sandpaper the moment somebody wipes a panel with a towel or drags a bag across the boot lip. It also works its way into seat rails, seatbelt reels and carpet backing where a household vacuum will never reach. We foam and rinse before anything touches the paint, and we extract carpets rather than surface-vacuum them, which is why beach cars come up so much better than owners expect.
Sun, humidity and the reflective glare off the water
Roofs, bonnets and rear decks up here take punishment from UV that comes at them twice — direct and bounced off the water. Combine that with coastal humidity and bird mess from the gulls and lorikeets around Bayview, Church Point and Clareville, and etching sets in fast. Shade, panel-by-panel work and a heat-tolerant sealant do more for a coastal car than any single wash ever will.
Boards, bikes, dogs and everything else the interior carries
The interior of a car at Avalon Beach or Elanora Heights lives a very different life to one in the city. Damp towels, wetsuits, sunscreen on the door cards, dog hair through the cargo area, mountain bike mud from the Terrey Hills and Duffys Forest trails. Ozone treatment on Signature Plus deals with the smell at the source instead of masking it, and hot-water extraction handles what a wipe-down cannot.
Five Kinds of Driveway We Detail on the Beaches
Knowing which of these you have tells us what to bring and how long to allow.
The clifftop and hillside driveway
Whale Beach, Bilgola Plateau, Clareville and parts of Avalon Beach are built on a grade, and plenty of driveways here are steep, narrow and exposed to wind straight off the water. We set the car cross-slope where we can so panels drain evenly, work in smaller sections so nothing dries mid-wipe, and bring extra hose and lead length because the tap is often up at the house while the car sits down at the street.
The flat beachside carport
Collaroy, Narrabeen, North Narrabeen and Newport are full of level blocks with a carport or open driveway a short walk from the sand. These are the easiest bookings to run and the ones that benefit most from sealant, because the cars are permanently in the salt zone. Shade from the carport also lets us work through the middle of the day without fighting the sun.
The unit block and shared bay
Mona Vale, Cromer, Collaroy and Narrabeen have plenty of apartments and villas where the car sits in a basement or a shared space. We need a reachable tap and power point, and in a lot of buildings we will park on the street and run our lines in. Strata approval is occasionally required for commercial work on site, so it is worth a quick check with your building manager before the day.
The acreage and bushland block
Terrey Hills, Duffys Forest, Bayview and the hinterland side of Elanora Heights usually give us all the space we want, often with a shed and power close by. The variables here are the long unsealed run to the house, which throws dust back onto a finished car, and the gum litter and sap that come with the tree cover — so we park and finish nearest the sealed section and cover the car if it needs to sit.
The offshore address
Church Point, Elvina Bay and Scotland Island are their own logistics puzzle, because the car generally lives at the commuter wharf or a mainland parking area rather than beside the house. If that is you, tell us where the vehicle actually sits and where the nearest tap and power point are, and we will confirm honestly before you book whether we can do the job properly at that spot.
Suburbs We Service Across the Northern Beaches
Twenty suburbs, one flat price, and no travel surcharge between any of them.
Mobile car detailing near me — what that means street by street
“Near me” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in most searches. In practice, detailing a car in a Mona Vale basement car space is a completely different job to detailing one on a Terrey Hills acreage block or on a steep Bilgola Plateau driveway with a westerly funnelling up the hill. Peninsula traffic matters too: a booking at Palm Beach and a booking at Cromer are forty minutes apart on a good day and a lot more on a summer Saturday, which is why we schedule geographically rather than first-come-first-served.
We plan for those differences before we arrive, and that is the practical difference between a genuinely local operator working the peninsula every week and a city-wide service that treats every postcode the same.
Mobile detailing Northern Beaches, six days a week
Weekday mornings are usually wide open, weekday afternoons suit workplace bookings around Mona Vale and Cromer, and Saturdays fill first with family cars from Avalon Beach, Newport, Elanora Heights and Collaroy. If you have a preferred window, book it a few days out and it is yours.

Don’t Just Take Our Word for It…
See What Our Customers Have to Say!
Why Locals Choose a Fully Mobile Detailer on the Northern Beaches
The obvious reason is time, and up here time means traffic. A proper detail is three to six hours of work, and nobody wants to add a round trip down Pittwater Road to that. When we come to you, those hours cost you nothing — you work, you walk the dog, you get down to the beach, and the car is finished when you come back outside.
The less obvious reason is quality control. In your own driveway you can see every stage. You watch the foam go on, you see the salt come off the door shuts, and at the end we walk around the car together in natural daylight before any money changes hands. Nothing is hidden behind a roller door, and there is no upsell sprung on you at a counter.
Then there is the pricing. Most detailers load their price by vehicle size, so the family seven-seater costs a third more than the hatch. We charge $299 flat, whether it is a small commuter at Collaroy or a big 4WD at Duffys Forest. Combined with no deposit and payment only after the walkaround, there is very little left to think about.
It also helps that we know the coast. A detailer who understands that a car three streets back from the sand at Newport needs a different protection plan to one garaged at Terrey Hills brings the right consumables the first time, and that is the quiet advantage of booking mobile detailing on the Northern Beaches with a team that works here every week rather than passing through.
Car detailing Avalon Beach, Mona Vale and Terrey Hills — three very different jobs
An Avalon Beach car is usually a beach car: sand everywhere, salt on every panel, roof racks that have not been off in years, and paint that has taken more UV than the odometer suggests. Decontamination and sealant are where the hours go. A Mona Vale car is often an apartment car and a commuter — less direct sun, more grime from tight parking, and glass and wheels carrying most of the visible dirt. A Terrey Hills or Duffys Forest car is a bush car: gum sap, dust off the unsealed sections, trail bikes in the back and frequently a 4WD with a canopy or towbar that needs its own attention.
Booking the same package in all three suburbs gets you the same checklist with a different emphasis, and that is deliberate. Tell us which of those three your car is closest to when you book and we will load the van accordingly.
Peninsula mobile detailing for fleets, holiday homes and pre-sale presentation
We also handle small fleets, trade utes, holiday-home vehicles and pre-sale presentation details from Palm Beach through to Cromer. If a car sits at a weekender at Whale Beach or Clareville for weeks at a time, a scheduled detail before each visit keeps salt from settling into a permanent film. If you are selling privately, a Signature Plus before the photos routinely pays for itself several times over — a decontaminated, sealed car photographs sharper and holds a buyer’s attention on a listing far longer than a rinsed one. And for trade vehicles working out of Cromer and Mona Vale, a regular detail keeps the interior liveable and the signage looking newer for longer.
Northern Beaches Mobile Detailing Questions, Answered
How much does mobile detailing on the Northern Beaches cost?+
Our Signature Detail is a flat $299 no matter what you drive. A hatch parked at Collaroy, a seven-seater at Elanora Heights and a dual cab ute at Terrey Hills all pay exactly the same — no size loading, no travel surcharge between any of the suburbs we cover from Palm Beach down to Cromer, and no card fee. Signature Plus is $429 and adds clay bar decontamination, engine bay cleaning, a hydrophobic paint sealant and an ozone odour treatment. You pay after the service, once we have walked around the car together in daylight.
Do you really come to my place, or do I drop the car off?+
We come to you, every time. The detail happens in your driveway, garage, carport, apartment car space or workplace car park. We do need access to a tap and a power point at the location, so it is worth checking both are reachable from where the car sits — especially in a Mona Vale unit block or a steep Bilgola Plateau block where the only outdoor tap can be around the back. Tell us when you book and we will plan for it.
How long does a detail take?+
The Signature Detail runs about 3 to 4 hours. Signature Plus is closer to 5 to 6 hours because of the decontamination and sealant stages. Elite Correction, our multi-stage paint correction, is a full-day job. Beach cars out of Avalon Beach and North Narrabeen with sand through the seat rails and salt on every panel can add half an hour, and we tell you that before we start rather than after.
What happens if it rains or the southerly comes through?+
A garage, carport or covered driveway means we work straight through. If you are on an open driveway at Newport or Wheeler Heights and the weather turns, we call you the morning of the booking and move you to the next available slot at no cost. There is no deposit and no cancellation fee, so a rescheduled day costs you nothing.
Can you remove salt film, sand and sea spray damage?+
Yes, and on this side of Sydney that is most of the job. Airborne salt settles on paint, glass and brightwork every night within a few streets of the water at Whale Beach, Bilgola Beach and Collaroy, and it holds moisture against the clear coat. We strip it with a pH-neutral foam and dedicated decontamination rather than scrubbing it, then seal the paint so the next fortnight of sea spray sits on the coating instead of the panel. Sand gets extracted from carpets, rails and boot liners properly, not just blown around.
Do you detail cars at apartments and at work?+
Constantly. The unit blocks around Mona Vale, Narrabeen and Collaroy, and the business pockets at Cromer and Mona Vale, are some of our busiest weekday bookings. Leave the keys at reception or in a lockbox, tell us where the car is parked and whether a tap and power point are available, and we will send photos when the job is done. Some strata and corporate car parks require building approval for commercial work, so a quick check with your building manager saves a wasted trip.
Which suburbs do you cover up here?+
Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Bilgola Beach, Bilgola Plateau, Avalon Beach, Newport, Bayview, Church Point, Clareville, Elvina Bay, Scotland Island, Mona Vale, Terrey Hills, Duffys Forest, Wheeler Heights, North Narrabeen, Narrabeen, Elanora Heights, Cromer and Collaroy. One flat price applies across all of them, with no travel fee between any two.
Do I need to provide water or power?+
Yes. We need access to a water source and a power point at your location so we can work safely and to the standard we promise. Older cottages at Clareville and Newport sometimes have the only outdoor tap on the wrong side of the house, and offshore addresses at Elvina Bay, Scotland Island and Church Point have their own arrangements — tell us when you book and we will work out the practicalities with you before the day.
Can you detail more than one car in the same visit?+
Yes, and it is common here. Two-car and three-car households at Bayview, Avalon Beach and Elanora Heights often book back-to-back details on the same day, which saves you a second morning and lets us set up once. Just tell us how many vehicles and what they are so we can allocate the right window.
Is a mobile detail as good as a workshop detail?+
The van carries the same machines, pads, compounds, extractors and sealants a fixed workshop uses — the difference is the postcode, not the standard. The one advantage a workshop has is a roof, which is why we ask about covered space when you book. The advantage you get is watching every stage happen at home and only paying once you are happy with the result.
How do I book?+
Book online through our booking page, call 0461 486 126, or email contact@motrivo.com.au. There is no deposit — you pay after the service once you have inspected the car. Saturday mornings north of Mona Vale fill first, so a few days' notice helps us give you the time you actually want.
